This 5-week self-paced online course provides an intense coverage of the methodologies in TCG’s 5-step R.E.B.L.E. program.  R.E.B.L.E. stands for R: Relax, E: Establish rapport, B: Baseline, L: Look for deviations from baseline behaviors and deceptive indicators, and E: Extract the truth.  As you can see, and hear, R.E.B.L.E. sounds like ‘rebel.’  That is done with intention.  Being a rebel means you are fighting for something you believe in.  We believe no one should be lied to, hurt, or taken advantage of so that is what we fight for, honesty and respect.  We want you to fight for the same things.  Whether you are a parent, a principal, an investigator, a hiring manager, a salesperson, a nurse or doctor, an attorney, even a seasoned interrogator, the tips this program will increase your detecting deception skills and your confidence in detecting deception with the most accuracy a human can possess, as well as perfecting your interviewing and questioning skills. 

This course teaches you how to be seen as trustworthy and confident to earn respect and honesty from others, how to increase your awareness in order to accurately read and interpret behavioral indicators of stress and deception, how to identify incongruent body language, how to thoroughly analyze spoken and written words to identify verbal deception, and then how to carefully extract the truth through effective questioning techniques and carefully worded conversations to include her go-to lie exposing questions.  You will learn how to timeline a story, a tool that always discovers a lie, and you will learn the difference between guilty and truthful answers. You will also learn how to avoid false confessions and how to discover a person's needs and motivations in order to bring them to a confession. 


Lena built rapport with terrorists in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, members of Al-Qaida and Taliban, shortly after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 in order to gain their honesty.  She was able to obtain high value intelligence information by mastering the art of human interaction; she used rapport techniques, questioning techniques, her keen detecting deception skills and the art of a non-accusatory conversation to break the detainees’ will to lie.  She brings that experience to you in this course.  


  • You do not need any prior knowledge of body language or deceptive analysis.

  • You will need access to a computer (preferable with a camera but it is not required), a free Google account to access Google Hangouts, and an email account.  Access to a printer is beneficial but not required.

  • You will have homework.  You will be given 4 homework assignments that will take no longer than 1 hour of your time each.

    • The first homework assignment will be to write two stories for this program a week prior the class. Instructions will be emailed to you upon registration and payment. We will use these in the training.

    • The second homework assignment will be to assess a video assigned to you and write down all the nonverbal deceptive indicators you see. 

    • The third will be to conduct a test on a peer or friend. 

    • The fourth will be to conduct statement analysis on written works.

This 4-hour online self-paced course is for anyone wanting to learn a highly effective and advanced tradecraft that can help you acquire information in the most unassuming way.  In this course we will provide you the fundamentals of elicitation and teach you where, why and how you can use elicitation effectively.  Elicitation is a skillful conversational technique used to obtain information from others during a casual conversation while concealing the intent of the conversation.  You may want to find out information that you feel uncomfortable asking for and that may make others uncomfortable, or, that may be damaging to your reputation or your profession if you ask for it openly.


Information such as knowing your stakeholders’ interests and expectations, if a buyer is serious or not, whether or not your patient is concealing symptom, if your customers have intentions of finding another vendor, or if there are any security concerns you should be aware of that others can’t openly disclose.  Elicitation can help you find out invaluable information that can protect you and your investments.  Elicitation can also pave the way to building amazing rapport with others and thus forming mutually benefitting relationships.  Unfortunately, elicitation is not a skillset that comes easy to most, but with proper training and practice, you’ll be able to elicit information effortlessly. 


Participants will learn both conversational elicitation techniques in order to casually and unassumingly obtain pertinent information from others and counter elicitation measures to protect themselves if they become the target of elicitation. Lena teaches 10 elicitation techniques in a fun and easy method so participants can grasp the concept and techniques quickly and effectively.  You will learn some highly effective rapport building techniques to gain likability and trust and body language dos and don’ts for looking and feeling confident while conducing elicitation.  She will teach you about what she refers to as, the ‘elicitation spotlight effect’ and the ‘elicitation stoplight’ to ensure you never give off the what she calls the ‘creep factor’ and you never expose the true intentions of your casual conversations.  And you will learn how to take conversations from the macro/broad topics to the micro/narrow topics and then back out again to the macro/broad topics to avoid suspicion.


Elicitation is an operational tool that exploits aspects of human psychology; certain aspects of which make human sources vulnerable to the techniques.  After training her clients, Lena is often told, “I didn’t think this stuff would work, but I was wrong, it really does work!”  These skills will allow you to obtain sensitive information without disclosing your intentions or objectives all while protecting yourself from being elicited by the adversary.
